Can Ya Spare Some Tools for Kenya?

An exciting new outreach program, Tools for Kenya, has just kicked into gear. This program will greatly benefit Kenyan students attending and training at several poly-technic schools in the area surrounding Kali Market, where World Servants is currently building an orphanage. In 2006, World Servants finished building the girls' dormitory at Tulimani Poly-Technic. Tulimani offers training programs to teens and young adults in the areas of carpentry, masonry, shoemaking, tailoring, computers, farming and metal work. The training they receive gives them the skills to begin careers in their home villages. The only thing they lack though is literally "the tools of their trade". The Tulimani training facility will be one of several beneficiaries of this tool collection program.

World Servants is asking people to dig deep into their garages, rummage through old toolboxes and see if grandpa's old tools are boxed up in the attic. All of these tools can be given new life when put into new hands. Old tools are gladly accepted, we only ask that the tools are useable and in good condition. While electricity is not common in most of the rural villages in Kenya, the poly-technic schools do have access to electricity so we are able to accept donations of electric and battery powered tools, as well.

Don't feel left out if you don't have any tools to contribute. World Servants is also taking financial contributions, $10 is suggested for anyone donating tools, to help defray the cost of shipping the tools to Kenya. Your participation in any way, shape or form will be greatly appreciated.
