In June of 2009, two groups of listeners from Moody Radio first went with World Servants to the Navajo Nation. The first group helped pour the foundation of a new church building in Blue Gap.  The second group laid the patio area for The Alpha and The Omega Church in Cottonwood. Relationship building is also a major aspect of every World Servants experience; the groups spent time with families in the community throughout the week and facilitated a Kids Club program for the children.

The listeners and staff of Moody Radio developed a wonderful relationship with the people in Blue Gap and Cottonwood during that time, and it is their desire to stay involved with the community and the church project in Blue Gap. During the upcoming trip in June 2010, a team of listeners from Moody Radio will return to Blue Gap and continue the work that began last year. The team will be building up the walls of the church and hopefully be able begin work on the roof. Of course there will also be plenty of opportunities provided for the team members to spend time with families and children within the community.

The community continues to ask about the “Florida folks.” They are excited to welcome back and get to know another team in summer of 2010—with faces both familiar and new. If you were part of the team in 2009, we would love to see you join us again. If you were not able to participate, here is another opportunity for you get to know the beautiful people of the Navajo Nation.
