Serving our Haiti Partners

Dear Friends,

We are waiting for updates from our Haiti partners:

  • Wilbert and Meg Merzilus of Living Hope Mission Ministries in Cap Haitien
  • Pastor Daniel Davilmar of Bethany Church and School in Port au Prince

We hope to find out what kind of help they need and how we can best serve them.

Currently we would ask everyone to pray for the first responders. The situation is desperate with people needing food and water. The medical needs are even greater. We would ask for God’s peace to be with all who know him and that others would be drawn to knowing him.

We will be adding several mission trips to Haiti but need to wait to hear from our partners before we add the dates. If anyone is interested in going to serve, you can call our office and leave your name, address and phone number (and e-mail). We will update you as soon as we know more. You can also go to our web site and sign up for more information. Be sure to indicate you are interested in Haiti.

Everyone, if you have a face book account please direct people to the World Servants web site so that they can join us in supporting our partners in Haiti.

Thanks,

Pattie

Call from Pastor Daniel

Dear Friends,

I just received a call from Pastor Daniel from Port au Prince, He said he is here in New Jersey and will be going back next week. He said to please continue to pray for them because he knows that they will have much to do to help the people. He will be sending me and update with more information. He is open for volunteers to come and help with recovery.

More later,

Earthquake in Haiti

Dear Friends,

Please pray for the people of Haiti and The Dominican Republic as they recover from the devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake which struck around 5p.m. last night.

Our two partners: Living Hope Mission Ministries in Cap Haitien and Pastor Daniel Davilmar of Bethany Church located outside of Port-Au-Prince. We have not heard from them but are hoping for an update soon. We know the earthquake was felt strongly in Cuba, nearly 200 miles away so we need to pray.

Port Au Prince is key when it comes to resources for many communities. So we need to pray for God to make a way for “First Responders” to get in as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Meg Merzilus, wife of Pastor Wilbert Merzilus from Living Hope Ministries is in the States and she hasn’t been able to connect on the phone, but believes the mission has not been directly affected. But, Wilbert has family in Port Au Prince. Please pray for safety for them…that they would hear from them soon.

If people would like to give to our two partners, they can give on line in response to this great need. (See Haiti Relief button at the bottom of this page.)

Thank you for praying for our brothers and sisters in Haiti,

Pattie Juarez
