Haiti is a land of contrast – the tropical beauty of paradise stands out against the reality of being the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, wrought with poverty unlike anywhere else.  Poverty is aggravated by over population, soil erosion, pollution, drought and famine, and the country has not yet recovered from the devastating earthquake in 2010.

The church in Haiti desires to be active in reaching out to the community, but lacks the vital resources required to fulfill their vision. World Servants’ approach to serving enhances personal dignity & strengthens the local church.   We are excited and hopeful that people, such as yourself, will feel compelled to serve in this severely impoverished country - bringing new hope and motivation to the Haitians, in addition, to the precious message of God's amazing love.

World Servants is returning to Haiti after a five year hiatus, partnering with Pastor Widmarck Joubert and New Jerusalem Christian Church, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The mission team will be serving in the community of Saint Marc, about 60 miles north of Port au Prince to help construct a church building. Phase One will include laying the foundation, constructing stairs and building the walls of the church with cement blocks.  This will be a multi-year project.  In the coming years, teams will work on the pastors’ office, choir area, community center, administration office, bathrooms, install electricity, along with plumbing so they have access to safe water.

This World Servants mission experience to Haiti is seven days in duration, which will include construction, Kids’ Club (VBS), home visits to see firsthand what life is like in Haiti and a relaxing day off at the beach.   Previous construction experience is not needed; just willing hands and hearts.
