Dominican Republic

We have been taking teams to the Dominican for more than 25 years to meet physical and spiritual needs in small villages and communities that are poor and often severely under-resourced. Our teams have been greatly affected by the attitudes of people living in these communities, gaining a new perspective on the truly valuable elements of life.

World Servants has assisted in the construction of schools, churches, water purification systems, and orphanages. We also host a Kids Club during a mission week plus visit homes where team members have a cultural experience and engage in spiritual conversations and prayer.

Communities Served at This Location

Villa Esfuerzo

Since 2002, World Servants has partnered with Pastor Firo Cuello and the Light and Life Church and School in this neighborhood on the north side of the capitol city, Santo Domingo, providing an elementary school and a water purification plant for the people of the Villa Esfuerzo neighborhood.

San Cristobal

Over the years, World Servants teams have worked to install water systems and latrines. In addition, our Project Niños provides the only medical care in the area, with doctors seeing 100–150 patients every month. After Tropical Storm Noel teams arrived in San Cristobal to repair homes, community buildings and the water supply systems.

In addition to helping meet physical needs in San Cristobal, World Servants’s goal is to assist leaders and build partnerships that lead to self-sustaining communities. Currently, eight villages and 40 leaders are participating in Community Development Training facilitated by World Servants.
